  • How many counseling sessions will it take to feel better?
The number of sessions it takes to feel better varies with each person. Some feel better as quickly as one session and others take longer depending on the severity of their issues. Therapy is not a linear process and therefore it is normal to fluctuate between feeling better and even feeling worse temporarily especially if you are processing traumatic experiences or very difficult situations and emotional pain.
  • How frequent do I need to attend counseling?
The frequency of counseling sessions depends on your needs and the severity of your issues and concerns, how much support you need, and your finances. I can provide guidance, but ultimately you have the choice as to the frequency of your appointments. There may be times you need to adjust the frequency of your sessions throughout our work together.
  • How long does the counseling process take?
The length of time it takes for the counseling process varies depending on the issues and concerns you bring to each session, the severity of those issues, how far you want to take the healing process, and your goals regarding what you want to gain from counseling.
  • How can I get the most out of the counseling process?
To get the most out of our work together, I recommend taking time to reflect after each session as some people gain additional insight from it that is helpful to the therapeutic process. I would also write down those insights and any other thoughts and feelings about our session along with anything else that occurred or came to your mind between sessions that you think would be beneficial for us to discuss further; this is because it is common for people not to be able to recall those things during session especially if it involves difficult topics or feelings.
